The Creator of the Original Protocol

During clinical work in the early 1950s, Dr. A.T.W. Simeons, a British endocrinologist, pioneered the theory of using hCG to help people lose weight and abnormal belly fat. He was the creator and developer of the original protocol of which the Spray It Away Weight Loss Program has been based upon.  Because of this astounding protocol, hundreds of thousands of people all over the world are living in slimmer, healthier bodies.

hCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin. It is a naturally occurring hormone that is produced in large amounts in a pregnant woman’s placenta and is historically used, in part, for the treatment of infertility in females to help induce ovulation. When males are given much lower doses than would be given to a female for infertility, hCG acts as a precursor to increase low testosterone levels.

While treating adolescent boys’ low testosterone levels with hCG, Dr. Simeons observed they began to slim down and began losing abnormal belly fat. Knowing that hCG positively affects the hypothalamus gland, he hypothesized this gland was responsible, in part, for the regulation of normal and abnormal fat.

Over the next 10 years, he experimented with specific amounts of hCG and specific foods. He discovered when both were administered as he had determined were correct, both males and females had the ability to lose extraordinary amounts of abnormal fat in relatively short periods of time.

As word spread about Dr. Simeons’ work with hCG and dieting, doctors and health practitioners from around the world traveled to Rome to learn more about his work. Due to this extraordinary interest, in 1967 he published “Pounds and Inches: a New Approach to Obesity” to help professionals and lay people better understand his findings. Following the publication, so-called “Fat Clinics” mushroomed all over Europe and the US.

Over the years, the hCG Diet’s popularity declined, mostly due to the attrition of practitioners who believed in and understood Dr. Simeons’ work. Even though there were several HCG Diet studies conducted in the mid-70s, they did not follow Simeons’ protocol exactly and therefore Simeons’ hCG Diet never received FDA approval for better weight loss results other than common dieting.

In 2007, Kevin Trudeau released a book called “The Weight Loss Cure ‘THEY’ Don’t Want You To Know About”, which included enough information about the hCG Simeons’ diet to create yet another interest in Dr. A.T.W. Simeons’ original work. Shortly thereafter, a few ‘pioneer’ Professional Clinics began offering hCG for weight loss. Since that time, homeopathic alternatives have since been created replacing the inconvenience of clinical visits and/or the need for injections.

Today with the differences in foods and nutritional value, studies have shown that the original protocol is much more effective today by increasing the food consumption and supplementing with vitamins and minerals. The Spray It Away protocol has implemented all of these updates and improvements with great success.
